Since 2001, Vervet founder, Willy Fluharty has taken students on transformative journeys around the world.

To maintain authenticity and manage travel risks, he co-founded the Global Education Benchmark Group (now called Institute of Global Learning-IGL) in 2008, dedicated to improving best practices for safer programs.

Vervet was born from a mission to make group travel safer and simpler. What started with our IGL partner schools quickly grew —coaches, nurses, and administrators using Vervet on global programs quickly saw it could standardize all off-campus travel, not just global programs.

Vervet now offers schools one platform for all off-campus programs. The robust risk management at the core of global travel programs is now centralized for school admin, chaperones, students, coaches and parents.
