Since 2001, Vervet founder, Willy Fluharty has taken students on transformative journeys around the world, creating immersive cultural experiences that often change the course of their lives.

To maintain authenticity and manage travel risks, he co-founded the Global Education Benchmark Group (GEBG) in 2008, dedicated to improving best practices for safer programs.

Vervet was born from this mission, aiming to enhance safety and streamline travel logistics for groups and communities.

    William has led extensive domestic and international student travel experiences since 2004, co-founded the Global Education Benchmark Group, and is a prominent speaker on global education and risk management at various conferences.

    Caroline has elevated Vervet's brand presence through her innovative approach to content and design. Her work in managing the website, creating engaging visuals, and maintaining cohesive branding has played a key role in enhancing the company’s identity and user experience.

    Stephanie has expanded Vervet's global footprint with a focus on user-friendly technology and exceptional client relationships. Her leadership has empowered organizations in the U.S., Canada, France, and Spain to modernize and streamline their travel management.

“We brought on Vervet as a partner for our Global Experience programs prior to our 2024-25 school year and that partnership proved invaluable on all of our trips but especially regarding our Belize Global Environmental Stewardship program. Our group arrived to Belize City and was about to go through immigration when our faculty chaperones realized that they had left the hard copies of our signed and notarized Consent to Travel forms at home. The trip leader was able to use the Vervet app to successfully process every student and chaperone through immigration. According to our faculty, it was the ability to quickly pull up a high quality scan of the form and then show the corresponding passport, parent information, etc. all through the app that made the process work. The immigration official even said that had the group not had this access they would have been forced to return home to the US. The official was even able to take the faculty leader's device and navigate Vervet on his own to process each student allowing the adults in our group to focus on the students. We will definitely focus this year on improving our pre-trip procedures to make sure this doesn't happen again but that piece of mind we now have knowing what Vervet can do for us is worth the price."
